I was on ESPN doing my typical Arians bashing and this dumb fuck took exception. I figured I'd let you all read and laugh. azzhole316 (1/21/2009 at 10:15 AM) Report Violation
MadxPierrot>> Where were you at, the year after the Steelers last Superbowl? The only thing missing from the 2005 SB team and the 2006 team was... No J. Bettis and No A. Randle el! What was their record... 8-8. With Faneca, with K. Whisenhunt, B. Cowart... Thats right 8-8!!! Back to back playoffs and now a superbowl w/ arians and you cant give him any credit. Not saying D. Lebeau dosnt deserve a huge amount of credit but Arains has not Hurt the Steelers!
Gotta love that last line.....

I agree, it would be a long long shot. I think he's perfectly happy in the booth and if he was going to come back it would likely be only for a Head Coach job. It would be an interesting scene in the 'Burgh though. I just hope that us making the Superbowl doesn't derail getting rid of Arians.

Listen, if you are going to be the worst oline in the NFL, then at least play with heart and more importantly play with discipline. False starts by the master of false starts Willie Colon, a useless personal foul penalty by a useless offensive lineman Keomoatu. We have a bunch of D1-AA rejects that dont deserve to wear the prestigious Steelers black and gold. I'm sick to my stomach.

My first choice is still Dan Henning but its remarkable that Brians Bilicks name hasnt come up, not only here, but on the national landscape for head coaching jobs. Its stunning that teams are willing to hire 32 yr old coordinators rather than a proven ex head coach. I know he coached the Ravens and that takes a little of his luster off but I always liked him as a coach, he was brought into Baltimore as an offensive genius. He just got stuck with Boller for a majority of his stint there, but look at what he was able to do when he had a QB in Steve McNair, 13-3 while putting up around 30 points per game. He knows the importance of running the ball and he knows how to utilize a big tough QB. Add to all of this he knows our nemesis inside and out. I think he would be a good fit if he would agree to run our offense.

I think defensive secondary might become a larger hole than most think. I got the feeling McFadden is looking for a big payday that he isnt likely to get from the Steelers, Townsend is getting up there in age, so that leaves Ike and whatever scraps are lying around after that. I wouldnt waste a 1st or 2nd rounder on a corner but we may be able to find a Leodis McKelvin type DB in the later rounds that can handle return duty as well. This draft is going to be important to Tomlin's future and its teeming with talent, I got my fingers crossed.

Judging by the Big Boards I've seen lately, there appears to be one or two top grade tackles and a few very talented and athletic defensive lineman that will be available down towards our draft position this year. Honestly, this could be a very exciting draft for us if Tomlin drafts wisely and drafts for our needs. (i.e. not drafting a running back when there is no o line in front of him).
I'm sure we all agree our needs rank as such:
1. Offensive Line 2. Defensive Line 3. Defensive Secondary 4. Fullback

I completely agree with every reason given. At least with Whisenhunt and Mularkey before him, when our offense stunk it up in the 1st half, adjustments were made and the situation was rectified. The lack of the moving pocket against heavy blitzing teams is inexcusable. There are no wrinkles in our offense, period, when it comes to trick and gadget plays, I mean I'm not lookin for a TD out of them but give the opposing DC something to think about. I mean you hit the nail on the head. One question, I live outside the Pittsburgh market so I havent seen every one of the games, mostly the ones from the beginning of the season but does anyone recall a fade pass to Sweed in the end zone? Im not the kids biggest fan cause he hasnt shown anything but isnt it worth a shot when he's 6'4 and can probably jump over every corner in the league? All of these reasons support my idea of throwing big money at Dan Henning who knows how to get the absolute most out of the players he fields.
PS Arians is a Wanker!

I think Ben's shoulder and hand are hurt a lot worse than anyone is letting on, add to this the concussion and its a recipe for disaster for our playoff matchup. I think the shoulder and hand are the reason he's been getting picked so often and why some of his balls are grossly missing their targets. Listen guys, I love Ben, but in the situation we are in now and with the stellar play of our defense, we need a quarterback that can simply manage the game and Leftwich can do that. We all know there is no way in hell that anyone is tellin Ben to play conservative and he actually listens. I say depending on the severity of the concussion, we shut Ben down for the season and let him rest up for next year when we will hopefully have some young, highly talented oline help and a new oc that that knows at the very least how to make halftime adjustments.
