It was sickening they way the locked it down after Charlie went in - run, run, pass, punt.  That was it the rest of the game.  How about mixing in a pass on 1st or 2nd down?  Tennessee would never have seen that coming!

So, the obvious choice for a goat if the offense goes wrong will be Dixon.  But DD could also be Arians' shot at redemption if he brings him along properly, slowly expanding the playbook and building success.  Heck, if the offense doesn't blow it through the first quarter of the season, Arians could come off like a genius.

Fine by me. 

I read somewhere (forget where now) that during their meeting, Tomlin told Arians that he wanted a greater emphasis on the running game next season.

There's no way to know if it's true, but perhaps there's a modicum of hope for next season.

Good post.  I saw that article too and wondered if the guy had been reading the Post Gazette or something!  He clearly didn't form those opinions through watching the games.
