Sheriff's deputies warned residents in the area not to approach the dogs, which were described as tan in color, and said that people walking alone should carry a cell phone or whistle in case they were approached by aggressive animals.
How does Starling City start picking up the pieces after The Glades was destroyed? Will there be a time jump to skip the initial aftermath? Guggenheim: There will be a time jump, not really to skip over anything, but rather it's just consistent with the choice we made early on with the show. We always try to pass time naturally. For example, there was a six week break between Episodes 9 and 10 and we wrote that break into the show. That said, The Glades and the Undertaking was a big piece of our engine that drives us forward in Season 2. If the story engine of Season 1 was this notebook of names, I think the story engine of Season 2 is the destruction of The Glades and the impact not just on The Glades, but all of Starling City. You've got Merlyn Global and Queen Consolidated both not in The Glades, but the two biggest employers of people in Starling City and those companies are in some dire straits. We're going to see in Season 2 that the economy in Starling City is pretty decimated.
The Cowgirls narrowly missed a come-from-behind victory March 27 against the Eagles after trailing 3-0 before falling on the short end of a 4-3 decision. Sheppard was 2-3 with an RBI double and Brown 1-2 with two runs scored. Brown and Purcell hit rockets in the seventh inning that were nabbed by Thatcher defenders to allow the Eagles to survive the comeback scare.
Swink schools are enthusiastic about Operation Smile. The mission of Operation Smile is to restore the facial features of children afflicted with cleft palate, who are often shunned and thus emotionally harmed. The countries where the clinics operate do not have the facilities to perform the operations, which though simple to the doctors are life-affirming to the children. On Wednesday the Swink school raised approximately $2,700,air jordan shoes

Most recent was Anthony Mendoza, who served in Nyeri, Kenya. Also still in high school is Maddie Jacquart, whose assignment was in Paraguay. This year, Joselyna Gallegos is going to Viet Nam. She was trained in Old Dominion, Virginia, in the winter. Torrey Davis has applied for the summer training program in Virginia.Asked why they applied for the project, they had similar but different answers. Gallegos said she was amazed at the difference the operation makes in the children with cleft palate. Also, she thinks it will be a great experience to meet people in a different culture and to have the privilege to volunteer. Mendoza said it was a life experience to see a country so different from the U.S. "Pictures and videos can give you an idea what it is like," said Mendoza, "but it is nothing like being there. It is so different from the U.S."Torrey Davis helped to organize the event, and is eagerly awaiting news of whether she will get to go to Old Dominion this summer. Because of the weather, the event had to be held indoors in the new gym. The elementary grades (K-6) walked from 2 to 2:30 p.m. and the higher grades (7-12) walked from 2:30-3 p.m. The second graders raised the most money in the elementary ($525) and will get Operation Smile T-shirts. Winners in the seventh and eighth grade essay contests were Lillie Fitzpatrick for the seventh grade and Kylie Krueger for the eighth grade. All the elementary students got a bag of popcorn in addition to a bottle of water as they left the gym. The high school students got a bottle of water as they finished their walking. Chris Casper said all the refreshments were given by so many different volunteers she couldn't begin to name them all. "This school is passionate about Operation Smile," said Casper. Casper has served as a volunteer in Morocco, Kenya, the Philippines and China. Her co-sponsor, Carol Lockhart, has served in Ethiopia and Vietnam.
