The spring he was drafted was when I joined the ESPN boards.  Time flies.  Hope he had everything he wanted in the NFL and does great things from here on out

Another reason to be glad they made the playoffs is we don't have to worry about the 1% chance the we traded Connor Mcdavid for David Perron. I don't think my heart could have taken that one.

I'm going to game 1. So that means they'll probably lose.

I dunno, I'm glad they made it. I'm glad to watch playoff hockey. I'm glad to go to a playoff game. I just don't have any expectations at all for the first time in 9 years. If they get swept I wouldn't be surprised at all. Also, the Rags are really fucking good. That doesn't help.

Hate to keep bringing this up, but has there been a team more unlucky with injuries in the last 5 seasons? Thinking all the time Sid missed. Geno was out a significant amount of time too. They always seem to be missing 1 of their top 2 or 3 defensemen. It's just been rough, and I can't think of any team that's had it worse really.

I hope they surprise us and put it all together. Pouliot and Ehrhoff back in the line up is huge.

I do think injuries played a huge role in this season.  Losing Letang, Mattaa, Erhoff, for significant time, when they are the defenseman that always get the play moving forward.  Dupuis, Hornquist, Geno, Sid, have all missed time.  BUT, at some point you have to man up.  They've consistently lost multiple goal leads down the stretch, something that you just can't do in the NHL, I don't care who is out of the lineup.

I know you probably know this, but it wasn't just who got injured; it was the fact that they ran out of cap space and couldn't bring anyone up.  They had 18 skaters tonight-- and that counts Adams, who logged 0:00 of ice time.

Anyhow, we're in the playoffs.  Yay?

Yeah, and Rutherford knew before the deadline how close to the cap they were, and the Pens cap people were pissed that he still made deals up to the cap.  The funny thing is, if he had just not made the Despres-Lovejoy deal, I think they would have been fine with calling up Harrington or Doumolin down the stretch cap wise. And the team would have better anyway.

Regarding the playoffs, I can't remember the last time the Penguins were as big of a underdog as they will be against the Rags.  Detroit in 07-08?  Probably not even then.  Maybe this is the year we get to spoil the #1 seed's party.

At the very least, with expanded rosters, we can have a full (gasp!) set of defenseman and forwards.  Word is Pouliet and Erhoff may be back for round one.

Three more: Central Fla. WR Breshad Perriman, S. Bama TE Wes Saxton, and BC QB/ATH Tyler Murphy.

I really understand due diligence and all, but isn't it odd that 3 (so far) of 30 allowables are for R1-2 WRs (Perriman, Parker, Coates)?  I'd be shocked the fuck out if they went that way, but is there some kind of black ops plan here to trade Wheaton on draft day?  Bryant?!  Just seems odd is all.

Perriman IMO has some drop issues, but he's a hot commodity right now on the visits.  So what do I know.

Saxton is sort of where we're looking with TEs, late round value.  Has some excellent measurables, but not renowned for blocking.  As a R5-6, could fit.

Murphy doesn't have a clear NFL position.  QB seems unlikely.  WR?  Safety?  KR/PR?  High character dude.  UDFA.

I hope Polamalu is half as proud to he associated with the Steelers organization as I am proud to have watched and supported such a class act as a player, hard worker, and model citizen. One of the greats of all time.

I already miss him.

Thank you for the memories. The brilliant memories that I won't soon forget. Even on a Friday!

Just like Pete Rock and CL Smooth would say: They Reminisce Over You.

This. Besides being a great player, I don't think I will ever respect a professional athlete as much as I respect Troy.

The good news is I'll never have too stop watching Troy clinch the Afc championship, or pick off Rivers with one fingertip, or run over Palmer at the goal line, or get from point A to point B like he was shot out of a cannon, etc.

Truly one of a kind.
