To no one's surprise, Moats will start. Tomlin says they'll monitor Harrison's conditioning during practice this week and that will determine JH's participation this Sunday.
I am re-watching the 2nd half of Sunday's game and will say that only the play where Jarvis Jones is hurt, while he "happened" in to causing the fumble, he did have really nice pressure on Carolina's LT.
Says to me that the reason AZ didn't work for him is that he truly didn't want to move again (must have left the family in Pittsburgh while he was in Cincy last year) and less about his ability to play or AZ's perception of his ability to play. Would have taken a lot of $ to get him to go out there.
Bottom line is the Steelers don't have much else to work with. Moats can start, fine. Maybe it works, maybe it doesn't. HoJo is a year or more away from being on the 53, if ever. I guess the Steelers didn't like Vic So'oto which is ashame because he's more ready than HoJo.
I've read the contingency of fans who hate bringing Harrison back. He's too old, to slow, can't cover. Jarvis Jones wasn't exactly playing like a young Lamar Woodley. I don't think the drop-off between JJones to Moats or Harrison is much. Moats has a pretty sparse hx as a pass rusher though he got a sack Sunday night (the DL was creating a pretty good push).
It's a fine move, considering the circumstances the Steelers face.
