Dick LeBeau finally made it into the NFL Hall of Fame. When one considers
his numbers, it's surprising that it took this long. Fortunately,
LeBeau is still of sound mind and body and can appreciate the honor
unlike other players who have been inducted some 40 years after their
playing days.

Those poor little Ratbirds. First, they get a good season from their
rookie QB and make it to the AFC title game. But their third loss to
the Steelers in as many tries sent them home for the season to watch
their nemesis win their 6th Lombardi trophy.

So far this year the Steelers have beaten the good teams and wet the
bed against the dregs of the league. Where are the Packers in that
mix? At the moment, they're a wild card team, so I'm expecting a
Steelers's victory - especially now that the playoffs are no more
likely than a meteor strike against an unnamed coordinator.

It's been a frustrating 2nd half. After the sloppy 1-2 start to the
season, the Steelers appeared to fix their problems in the bye week and
wrapped up the first 8 games at 6-2. As the home loss to Oakland
proves, it was no more than an ill-advised assumption.

This isn't about the team physician recommending that Ben
Roethlisberger sit out the Ravens game; rather, it's the next opponent
on the schedule. And friend, the Oakland Raiders are just what the
doctor ordered.

It's Ravens' time again. Time to work up a healthy hate (it's easy)
and turn our eyes to Baltimore and M&T Bank stadium. It's a
different matchup than a year ago when the Steelers led the division
and staved of the Ravens with a series sweep followed by a playoff win
that vaulted them to the Super Bowl.

Why bother with yet another recap? The Steelers bought it in Arrowhead
so please enjoy this photo of Steve Martin with an arrow through his
head while guest starring on The Muppet Show.

Did you say trap game!? Ha! The Browns aren't capable of springing a
"trap game." Was anyone unfortunate enough to watch the Browns vs Bills
game last week? Really? You watched that? Was the only alternative to
repeatedly smash your thumb in a car door?
