Drafting a 1st round running back would be like a slap in the face to Willie..You dont take a 1st rounder n pay him a shit load more than Willie..also you got Najeh with a pretty good deal as a 3rd back?? hell no...If you take a RB.. draft one later..use lynch as bait for teams to trade up..get a shit load for thta 15 pick
This is an issue that I've beaten to death; beyond it, really. There isn't even a greasy spot left, just a dried, crispy shell where there was once a spot.
I'm not going to recant my opinion on Lynch because I'm sure that everyone reading this is tired of hearing it. So, if you're interested in reading my view, here's
one thread where I go into some detail on it. And,
here's another where I touch on it as well.
I'm going to stand by my opinion even though I've basically come to grips with the fact that Pittsburgh isn't going to take him at 1.15. More than likely, in fact, it's almost a
guarantee that Pittsburgh will go defense in R1.
It's a shame because I think by focusing more on need than on drafting the BPA at their position, they may pass over several better offensive candidates (Lynch and maybe Brown, if he's still there) in favor of defensive help.
I just hope that passing on Lynch* isn't the next Marino type move for Pittsburgh.
*Not saying he's a lock for the HOF or anything. I just see it being one move they'll regret for many years to come.
