Question to ponder

I just think there is too much upside to give up on him already, regardless of what happens here in the pre-season. I would rather err on the side of hanging on to him than on some other team picking him up and finding out that way that we made a mistake.

I don't like the idea of Colclough returning punts. His technique looked awful last year (hands over his head like he was going to set up a volleyball).

I know the guy is a return specialist, but it looks like he could make the team soley on his WR skeels.  And Devon Hester doesn't run em all back for TDs, he has his 3 yard returns and fair catches just like all the rest.

Reid is a lock.

People were saying the same thing about Randle El when he was first getting into the NFL game. For real. I was in the stands for a lot of it but it happened on here, too.

I know I'm in the minority and it'll probably give Y (2 to tha double D) Joyce a coronary, but my opinions on Reid haven't changed.

You mean you haven't changed your opinion from last weekend?!? Not shocking.

Also I don't get too worked up about things like that. Not like the old jousting pole era. I get pissed off when people (mostly at the games) act like the team owes them something and whines like fuckin babies at every wrong turn. "This team aint never gonna be nothin' I don't think" Oh well. Take your pessimism and quadruple negatives out of my way on the waiting list.

The one thing that has me very confused and legitimately upset regarding an ex-Nole is that Tomlin is supposedly playing Deshea and Ike as his corners and leaving B-Mac on the bench....but I won't get into a rant and destroy the thread.

I agree he's got to make the team. I raved about his camp performance last year (and Walter Young's ironically...I'll have to find it...) and Roethlisberger's gone out of his way to praise FWR on several occassions that I've heard him interviewed.

And I guess it's a durn good thing that William Gay doesn't go by "Willie."

Yeah but he still goes by Gay. I do see what you mean though. Thank God we've got our Head 'RC Coach' going by "Coach Tomlin" and not Willie Mays Hayes (2).

I was at a bachelor party watching the 2nd preseason game (pre- "the fun") and I remember commenting that FWR did the "Tim Dwight" in the second or third quarter when he took the punt running with a speed buildup into traffic like Dwight used to do at Iowa.

He has been damn good, though. I made fun of that pick at the time but he's obviously on his way to becoming one of the best PR men ever IMO.

Really not understanding the rabid anti-Reid stuff.

I think it is a prejudice against having too many players named "Willie" on the team. That many "Willie's" are gonna make us homersexual, or something!
 

Or turn all you dudes into chicks.

And I'm not having that.  I kinda like being the "only" chick.....(yeah, there are others out there, but....)
