The Steelers traded for cornerback Allen Rossum for help on their return game. Rossum has the ability to fill in a quarterback, as well. Pittsburgh only had to give up a conditional seventh-round choice, so if the Steelers don't like what they see, they could cut him before the end of the week and save the pick.
He can fill in at QB as well aye? I wonder if we keep him if BSP is gone?
Sounds like a good guy to take a flyer on and test him for a week.

I like the move. Rossum, even at 32, still has some juice, and gives us a stable "right now" guy. And we keep our return guy of tomorrow, Willie Reid, and build him up. Rossum could still play some nickel, too.
Too bad for Goo, who worked hard this camp. He was never the future at LB, though.
Surprised we cut Philip, finally. I thought he had stuck; then saw he and Okobi were both gone. Is our OC depth really Mahan and Stapleton? That's a HUGE vote of confidence then for Stapleton.

Or just a show of major disappointment with Chucky and Marvin...

I like the Rossom move too. The FO might have allowed the Steelers to win another game or two this year by making the trade happen. I'm sure Reid would have put the ball on the turf a couple times this year.

The dollars were a factor in the Chucky situation.

This was a decent move, but there were some WR/return men that got cut (Hakim, Caldwell, Bloom) that we could have looked at. Still, having someone back there that can field the ball is a great relief.
