This was a decent move, but there were some WR/return men that got cut (Hakim, Caldwell, Bloom) that we could have looked at.  Still, having someone back there that can field the ball is a great relief.
True, but Hakim and Caldwell were cut after the trade, if I am correct.  So we targeted Rossum as a guy we wanted, rather than picking through guys we didn't.  Bloom has shown less than Willie Reid.

They've got so much confidence in Reid, they traded for a guy that will probably only see the field as a return man.

Still think that keeping Reid over Young was a bad move.

I'd like to think Reid is the future.  I don't know Rossum's contract situation, but perhaps this is just a one year deal so Reid gets more acclamated to the NFL.

Who signed Young, BTW?

I believe Reid has a bigger upside as a WR with the type of offense that the steelers will employ this year.  Quick high % passes less than 10 yards greatly plays to Reid's skill set more so than Young.

then add in the return abilities, that put Reid over the top.

I like Caldwell a lot, so I guess I'm a little biased.  He played well for the Pats last year and he'd come in real cheap.  I would much rather have him than Rossum, but I believe he was injured for some of the preseason.  I guess my point was that we could have waited a day or two and had our pick of a few guys.  Not really a big deal because as long as our returner can catch the ball, I'm happy.

You're right, Finny, Bloom stinks.  I was just using him as an example.  Maybe he can join the professional skiing tour.
