NFL gave every team the option for their captains to wear a new Captains patch, both Saints and Colts have them tonight.

It looks pretty cool 2 actually. Does anyone know if we are going to use them?  I Highly doubt we will.. But i kinda hope we do. Its a nice touch.

I completely disagree.  I think they're ridiculous looking; who'd ever think the NFL would steal an idea from the NHL?

A captain should be known by his demeanor, not by a patch on his jersey.

With the 75th patch, I'd be surprised. We still have to find room for the Superbowl XLII patch.

Penso's just being pissy because he doesn't have the staff to offer a Captain Coozie.

It don't take all that long to put a "C" on there.  I think I can handle it.

Besides, santa's got a new little helper.

I played roller hockey for 8 years, and I agree some what with your statement the C doesnt make you a captain. I was once voted to captain one of our touring teams, and It was something I wore with great pride. When I was down and felt like quitting and looked down and seen the C, I knew i couldnt do it.

Any player who would be blessed with the chance of being a captain would agree. Sure the patch dont make you the captain, but it is nice to be recognized as that, and for everyone to see. Sure a lot of guys who are true captains could care less about if they have a patch or not. But no one would turn it down with the chance to sport it. Its something that could drive guys, everyone knows they are a leader, so you better damn well play like it, or act like it.

I think its nice for team to show who there leaders are. We know who are leaders are. Do your causal fans? Does the opposing fans?  I think its a nice touch

The "C" is just another way for the NFL to sell more merchandise.  If you don't believe me, take your Faneca jersey in to the store where you bought it, and ask them if they'll just stitch the "C" patch on for you.

It, as with most patches, is gay and none of the Steelers will be wearing them.
