C. Batch

I think Batch is a great backup and we are very lucky to have him.  But with all of the QBs going down and many simple struggling, aka Panthers, Bears, Dolphins you would think that his value would be sky high right now.  Don't take me wrong I love him but in the long run maybe we would be better off with a number 2 pick from someone?  I would be surprised if no one has contact the front office to see if they could work a deal to get him.

Batch is good enough to start on at least 5-6 teams.

I say keep Batch. The way BR plays combined with a porous OL means that a game or two without him is likely. Batch can step in a get the job done with minimal change to the gameplan. He is the best backup QB in the league and the Steelers would be remiss to trade him IMO.

No question that a lot of teams would love to have him and may give up more than a #2 to get him.  Only one problem:

What would happen to us if OUR #1 went down?

Better option:  Give up St. Pea Hair for a 4th rounder.  I'm hearing Kerry Collins, Interceptaverde, Bledsoe being tossed out there.  Could BSP be THAT much worse than guys who are currently residing at Shady Acres Assisted Living?

Keep him he may need to play a few games for us and BS sucks!
I see we now have the #1 Defense and the Number 2 Rushing attack.  I think this is how Champions do it.

It's an interesting idea from the standpoint of getting a decent reward while the market is in our favor.

The reason I wouldn't trade Batch is the mentoring he's giving Ben.  Even this year, in the game against Cleveland maybe, the camera cut to Ben chatting with Batch almost every time Ben came off the field.  

Add in that Ben has had an injury almost every year he's been in the league, and we need a backup who could lead this team.
