You guys see the latest issue with fast willie on the cover?
ESPN
I just got done reading the article, and I like willie's blue coller down to earth approach to football.

girl Shawna beat him in a footrace.
Willie Parker helps lighten the mood in the Pittsburgh huddle.
Shawna was 18 and Willie 10 or so, but that didn

I don't see the humor in that.

Thats nonsense. Here we go again.......... The article is about a man's determination to make the most out of his opportunity and you turn it into a race issue. Some things never cease to amaze me.

Dude, lighten up. You'll notice that the posters here are totally irreverent, and they carry themes from one thread to another. If you don't think it's funny, that's fine, but nobody was "turning it into a race issue." We all get the point that Parker has made the most of an opportunity, and I think the article was a good read, very insightful into his life. Neither Otis nor I were disrespecting that.
Think of it this way. What you find distasteful is really our way of dealing with those things in life that, well, suck. Racism sucks, right? Well, let's not sweep it under the carpet. Let's drag it out in full view and utter mockery, being as un-politically correct as possible, and show it for the ridiculous beast it is. And, for my money, ironic humor is one of the most biting tropes.
Sometimes you just gotta shrug it off and understand that it's just Otis bein' Otis, or whatever.

Finny,
Too bad he missed your glorious *edit* post from a few weeks back.
Now for some current events material.
