High ankle sprain is bad news.

Well, maybe this'll force someone else to step the fuck up at WR.
At safety, totally different story being as though their (IMO) best coverage and "doesn't do anything great, but does just about everything solid" safety in Clark is already on IR.
Carter starting...yeeeesh.
I think the proper emoticon for that is... :puke:
Seriously, somebody get Mike Logan on the phone.

The news of Troy's injury doesn't help a group that's already missing Ryan Clark.
What are Donovan Darius or Lance Schulters doing these days? Both have been castaways in recent history but I can't imagine Grant Mason suiting up for any (and not "many") other NFL team.
The news about Holmes sucks and sucks hard. He's quietly becoming the best receiver on the team. Add in that he's thrown a few vicious blocks this year, ala his mentor Hines Ward, and his loss is a big one.
Nate can play, at times. Wilson has his game every year. And that's it. Reid probably gets the call this Monday. And against the Fins, it's probably the easiest way to ease him in easily.
More passes to Heat and hopefully Spaeth can catch a few. He's really been a non-factor since the first 3-4 games.

Yeah, agree with SC, I like Holmes as a player and he's going to be missed. He has a lot of want-to with that ability, which is obviously showing itself. Willie Reid is going to have to step up or go the way of James Jett. He was a special teams monster in college, but hasn't translated that to the pro level, and is still functioning as a rookie receiver.
Missing Troy and Clark is a potential problem, especially if Smith and Carter don't take all the D-side snaps. I think that Townsend has gotten a lot out of his ability over the years, but I sure don't want him as the last line of defense. Or Grant Mason, who would be the second coming of Etric Pruitt in SB XL.
