Gulp. Am I the only one who is concerned by this? I know missing Wed practice is standard protocol for a lot of vets in the NFL, but Thursday too?? I am getting a bad 'Troy-like' feeling that this could be worse than Coach T is letting on. Someone please tell me I am being ridiculous and over-reacting. Anyone??

FWIW, the Trib is saying all is well. I still won't be convinced until I see him suiting up on Sunday at Heinz.

Me too, Preach. But if the o-line protects Charlie the same way they do Ben, he may get killed. Seriously. Ben's elusiveness (and his ability to play well in the elements) will be a huge factor in this game, IMO. As long as he can suit up, we should have the advantage at QB play as well as passing offense (for the simple fact that Pitt is experienced in it, and Jax is not).

That said, Batch has a quicker release, and I think has in the past shown a willingness to throw it away, whereas Ben will take more sacks.

Lambert, point well taken. But I cannot help but feel our chances of winning would be severely impacted by Ben not playing. I know CB is a very capable backup, but I would feel loads more comfortable with him going against a team like the Bengals, instead of a stout D like the Jags.
The Trib right now is saying that Batch is preparing as if he is going to start. I need to stop checking the websites since I discovered this information, I am going to drive myself crazy before Sunday!
It seems like we are ALWAYS shorthanded vs the jags, and lose tight games to them because (for the most part) we are under-manned. I am just scared that this weekend may be no different if Ben is out. =(

In that last link, Tomlin says Big Ben will be behind the helmet on Sunday.
He should know.

That's a pretty bold statement there, bonzr.
You have some true factual evidence to support such a strong accusation?
