There's not much more to add. There was a running play during the Rams game in which he got launched back a few yards within seconds of snapping the ball. He looked like a ragdoll. It was beyond getting beat; it was like an SNL comedy sketch.

Seriously. Didn't the Cards cut him?
If he's not dead, I'd give him a look at OC for the run.

Yep, he's out there. Arizona is really becoming Pittsburgh West.

I seriously think that a blow up doll would pose more of a blocking threat than Sean Mahan.

Here's a question I asked elsewhere, and i'll ask it here:
Is Sean Mahan just a really bad football player? Or is he just a really bad center? If, say, for example, he went back to Guard...would he still get beat like a mule? Or doesn't that matter? I don't know. That's why i'm asking.
Of course, as someone else pointed out, he
is
making backup money, so, perhaps he is just a backup. That could be it, too.

I thought he got 4 years at 16 million at whatever bonus. Could be wrong though. That ain't backup money. Sure, it's not stupid money or superstar money, but it ain't backup money.

Would it be possible to convince Tomlin to switch Mahan and Kendall this Sunday, since it doesn't matter, just to see what happens?

I'll give him a call and see what he says.
The worst he can say is "fuck you", but he doesn't usually talk like that to me.
Plus, we go way back, so maybe he'll give it a go.

Based upon what my buddy who is a Bucs fan said about him, he would definitely be a better guard than center. Then again, at this point, it wouldn't really take much to best his performance as a center.
Somebody get Hartings on the horn. I heard that he's been keeping himself in Bettis-like shape...I'm talkin' training camp svelte here.

Sean Mahan-G - Steelers Mar. 10 - 1:04 pm et
Steelers signed OL Sean Mahan to a five-year, $17 million contract. The deal includes a signing bonus of roughly $4 million.
Mahan was viewed as a guard by Seattle and Cleveland, but the dollars given him by Pittsburgh indicate he'll replace Jeff Hartings at center. Chukki Okobi and/or Kendall Simmons' roster spots may be in jeopardy

I don't care what the money sitch is, he's either got to be moved to guard next year or fucking cut outright. I don't think he's a particularly good snapper, and coming out of his stance he just has no power or reaction. Now, maybe at G he has less to concentrate on and he's OK. I still think Simmons at LG and Colon at RG is better, in which case, Mahan's a pricey backup.

I kept a close eye on Kemo today. I'm trying to figure out why he's not good enough to be playing.

Mahan would have to be better at G because there's no way he could be worse at C. As Finny said, he's way to overpaid to be a backup. I'll be pissed if he's back next year. Old, bad kneed Jeff Hartings was much, much better at C than this assclown.
Guess where the Jags D is strongest? Right in the middle. Mahan's going to get used and abused like a $2 whore.

If I'm reading the BSG cap info right, we could cut Mahan post 6/1 and create a cap savings. Depends IMO on whether we retain Kemo.
Be a hell of a message from Tomlin.

Yeah, the thread should read "Insert OL name here.....fucking sucks". My bad.
None of our OL can pass block. Seriously, it's about time to blow up the whole OL and start over. Are any of the young guys (Starks, Essex, Kemo) legit NFL linemen? I don't know, but you'd think they'd be further along right now if they were.

I pray that there is enough depth at OL in the '08 draft to make this possible.

We need to spend more early draft choices on OL. Crossing our fingers and hoping late round picks like Kemo and Essex develop into starters doesn't always work.
I think our two biggest offseason needs are starting OL and DL depth.
