It's just luck of the draw. This season, the AFC South and NFC East are the two toughest divisions in the league. They're the same two divisions that we play in full next season, based on the year-to-year revolving schedule.
AFC South, NFC South HOME: Houston, Indianapolis, Atlanta, Carolina. ROAD: Jacksonville, Tennessee, New Orleans, Tampa Bay.
AFC West, NFC West HOME: Oakland, San Diego, Arizona, St. Louis. ROAD: Denver, Kansas City, San Francisco, Seattle.
AFC East, NFC East HOME: New England, New York Jets, Philadelphia, Washington. ROAD: Buffalo, Miami, Dallas, New York Giants.
AFC South, NFC North HOME: Jacksonville, Tennessee, Chicago, Detroit. ROAD: Houston, Indianapolis, Green Bay, Minnesota.
AFC West, NFC South HOME: Denver, Kansas City, New Orleans, Tampa Bay. ROAD: Oakland, San Diego, Atlanta, Carolina.
AFC East, NFC West HOME: Buffalo, Miami, San Francisco, Seattle. ROAD: New England, New York Jets, Arizona, St. Louis.
AFC South, NFC East HOME: Houston, Indianapolis, Dallas, New York Giants. ROAD: Jacksonville, Tennessee, Philadelphia, Washington.
AFC West, NFC North HOME: Oakland, San Diego, Green Bay, Minnesota. ROAD: Denver, Kansas City, Chicago, Detroit.
AFC East, NFC South HOME: New England, New York Jets, Atlanta, Carolina. ROAD: Buffalo, Miami, New Orleans, Tampa Bay.
AFC South, NFC West HOME: Jacksonville, Tennessee, Arizona, St. Louis. ROAD: Houston, Indianapolis, San Francisco, Seattle.
AFC West, NFC East HOME: Denver, Kansas City, Philadelphia, Washington. ROAD: Oakland, San Diego, Dallas, New York Giants.
AFC East, NFC North HOME: Buffalo, Miami, Chicago, Detroit. ROAD: New England, New York Jets, Green Bay, Minnesota.
The revolving schedule repeats itself every 12 years. In 2014, we'd be back to the AFC South and NFC South again.
