Ben Roethlsiberger - Best Passing Season...

The list of team records set by 7 this year.
Passer Rating: 104.1 - Shatters the mark previously held by...Ben, at 98.6. Roethlisberger now holds the top three single season passer ratings in franchise history.
Touchdown passes: 32 - Previous record was Terry Bradshaw, with 28.
Completion Percentage: 65% - He didn't break the team record - that he already holds - but he did put up the second best number. He now holds the top three single season completion percentage marks in team history.
Most Consecutive Completions: 15 - He tied Bubby Brister - of all people - for this mark in the Seattle game in week 4. An impressive feat, considering he was without his top two wide receivers and played the game with only Nate Washington, Cedric Wilson and Willie Reid at the Wide Receiver position.
Highest single game completion percentage: 85.7% vs. Miami. The previous record was Kordell Stewart at 84.6% on November 24, 2002 Vs. Cincinnati.
Other random tidbits:
- He had four games this season where he completed at least 80% of his passes (Week 4 Vs. Seattle, Week 9 Vs. Baltimore, Week 12 Vs. Miami, week 16 Vs. St. Louis)
- He posted two perfect passer ratings (Week 9 Vs. Baltimore, Week 16 Vs. St. Louis) He has three for his career, which ties an NFL record
- He threw at least four touchdown passes in three different games. He threw at least three touchdown passes in five different games. The only game without a touchdown pass was the week 12 quagmire against Miami.
All of this in 15 games, as I assume he's sitting today.
Well done, Ben. Well done.

Why, yes, yes he was. So that would be four times over 80%. Four.

Dr. J, if the hardon lasts more than 4 hours, you should seek medical help.

I thought you missed one but it turns out his 47 times sacked fell jsut short of Cliff Stoudt's 51 in 1983.

It's a shame that his 2007 season will now be remembered for the turnovers last night, and not the way he played to reach last night.
But, that's the game. No mulligans in the playoffs.
Still, an amazing, amazing season. And I think there may be better ones ahead.

and, if you can count his 6 times sacked in the playoff game, then he passes Cliffy Stoudt for the season high.
Way to go O-Line!

Honestly, I really don't think that's the case. Once the wound of gacking up a playoff game heals a bit, most will remember this season as a year that Ben took a step
up
in QB rankings, if you will.
What remains to be seen is if he builds on it. Let's make this year the rule, not the exception.
