I just got back from the game in Baltimore and there was this handicapped 10 year old sitting next to me with his grandmother. As it turns out he has ALS (Lou Gehrigs disease) and has a very poor prognosis. Well he was given season tickets thru Make-A-Wish and had enjoyed every game till todays.
A group of 15-20 Steeler fans ranging in age from late 20's to late 30's kept calling him "Timmy" all game (South Park). They kept saying Timmy over and over in that voice from South Park. The Grandmother turned around at 1 point and told them to "grow up" and they responding back with things like "You gonna beat me up old lady" and "Did u smoke crack when u were pregnant". Towards the end of the game when Balt was up by 20 they decided to leave early (The annoying 15-20 Steeler fans).
At the end of the game the kids electric wheelchair was missing. It was parked near the steps by their seats. One fan pointed out one of the Steeler fans in that group that left early was riding it, but he thought it was actually his because who in the hell would steal a handicapped persons wheelchair??? I know A FRICKIN STEELER FAN WOULD. As I was leaving I saw the wheelchair totally trashed kinda near the stadium. I knew it was his because it had a license plate thing that said "Joseph" (his name) on it. The battery was ripped out, the steering stick was broke off and 1 of the back wheels was bent and the 1 front wheel was missing.
You know you hear left and right how bad Steeler fans are at home games when they see visiting fans, but that is by far the most classless act I have ever witnessed in my life. Your in someone elses house and you pull that crap. I walked out of that stadium with my head to the ground and it wasnt because of the loss either. And we wonder why people hate Steeler fans??? It isnt because our football team is good its because most of us are drunk cowards who start trouble and pull garbage like I saw today.

One way to validate Steeler fans would be for a YouTube video to surface of us on this board in our jerseys pummeling the shit out of those dudes.
There are no words to describe this incident if it happened as described. When video and stories surfaced of people robbing electronics stores and taking TVs out of homes in the days following Katrina, my buddy simply said, "There is a special place in hell for people like that."
I think that line is appropriate here.

I will be the one to call complete bullshit.
You guys can't be this gullible. I have been on this earth for 34 years and have never heard anyone make fun of child in a wheelchair. Not only have I never heard it done directly to the child in the wheelchair but never even behind ones back.
Nobody makes fun of sick children in wheelchairs and then destroys the kids wheelchair to boot. Just think about it.
Not to mention in a stadium where the attendance is a majority of men. These guys would have been destroyed waaaay before they actually touched the childs wheelchair.
This douche bag just created some seriously bad karma for himself.

There are no words to describe this incident if it happened as described. The primary reason I put the little disclaimer "if it happened as described" is that I have been to games in opposing team stadiums, and I'm not seeing how these guys if they did what is reported lasted into the fourth quarter. Think of Heinz Field on a Sunday. Try to imagine a handicapped kid with his grandmother waving their terrible towels and watching the game. Imagine 15-20 Ravens fans calling him Timmy and making fun of him. Now imagine what Pittsburghers would do to those guys. But considering that this week I saw a report that a mother and daughter wrote a fake letter about a husband and father dying in Iraq, so that they could win Hannah Montana tickets, nothing surprises me. Either way, true or not, we live in a fucked up world.

Either way, true or not, we live in a fucked up world. We're all living in a fucked up world. Yeah, that's a cool Dead Milkmen song. Mom and Dad don't like me They say I'm mean and crude They tried to make me a good little boy By sticking downers in my food Fucked up world We're all veterans of a fucked up world Fucked up world We're all members of a fucked up world My neighbours try to run me down Because I'm such a mess Maybe it's cause of the way I look Or maybe the way I dress Philosophers try to put me down Hey what's the meaning of life? Go kill a cop and drink till you drop Baby that's my advice In a... Fucked up world We're all veterans of a fucked up world Fucked up world We're all members of a fucked up world Girls don't really like me That's why I hate myself Maybe it's cause of the way I look Or maybe it's something else My room is such a pig sty My floor has never been swept But I've got a fuck off attitude And that's something that should be kept In a... To answer some of your ???'s Im not a Bills fan. I do like Poz though.. In our section were a ton of Steeler fans so alot of the ridicule was ignored by mostly everyone (many of them Im sure didnt hear it either). Also this was a group of 15-20 people together and only 3 of them were women so Its not like 1 or 2 people could of took them on in a fight. I have no clue how he got out of the stadium. Im sure thed stadium has manual wheelchairs.
Did I make this up? No. Does it sound made up? Possibly. There are alot of sick people in this world. Podephiles, rapists, murderers etc.... Stuff like this happens. Im still mad about it but I am getting over it. I just think it was a real pussy thing to do to a sick child. Will he probably get a new chair? I guess. Will he be able to enjoy another football game? Not sure. Does everyone in that section think we are classless fans??/ U betcha. Its a shame a few rotten apples spoil the bunch but it did happen.

This is the kind of story that, at the very least, Sports Illustrated should pick up on, if not the national media. If it's true, it sucks and ANY fan that does that kind of bullshit is not a true Steelers fan. If it's not true, it's a disgusting bit of bullshit to spread around. Either way, it's a lose-lose situation.

First off they were told time and time again by his grandmother (Shame on Balt security). What am I supposed to do beat up 16 guys? I searched high and low hoping I would find a police report or something but I came up with a similar situation http://www.wkyc.com/news/rss_article.aspx?...S&storyid=56689 No one heard of this story. Why would it be national news? Please some1 just lock the thread. I saw it, it happened, I was pissed about it and I vented.

Will everyone stop feeding into this Poz jock sniffer's bs? One more thing, when was the last time you saw someone in a wheel chair lifted out of the wheel chair and placed into a seat? Yes, you are correct, never! Why? because they have seating to accomodate the disabled Seating at M&T Bank Stadium. Not to mention the careless disregard for the wheelchair left somewhere in M&T Bank Stadium where vandals could destroy it. THIS STUFF DOES NOT HAPPEN. THIS DID NOT HAPPEN. For all of you "if it did/if it didn't happen" people, get your head out of your a$$, stop being such PC nancy boys and throw the bs flag.

Total BS...sounds a lot like that report in 2001 about the Maryland senator who "feared for his life" after attending the Ravens' playoff game vs. the Steelers?
I'll never buy that stadium security would passively allow this to happen. Nice load of crap, Jason.
