I remember the Emperor Noll being inerviewed in the locker room after the Steelers first Super Bowl in history; he said, "We're going to enjoy this for a couple days then get back to work." It's been a couple of days.

It would give breathing room for the Steelers, but I highly doubt the'yd max out.  Assuming a Ward restructure, we could be close to 25-28M under (not knowing about LTBE bonuses for the SB).

A Foote cut may not be needed... keep him for depth.

NFL | Salary cap for 2009 could increase

Pete Dougherty, of the Green Bay Press-Gazette, reports a source said there are whispers the salary cap for the 2009 season could be higher than the projected $123 million. The salary cap could be as high as $130 million. The NFL will calculate the cap for 2009 before free agency starts Feb. 27.

Omar Kelly, of the South Florida SunSentinel, reports the Miami Dolphins may be interested in Pittsburgh Steelers impending free-agent CB Bryant McFadden if he does not re-sign with the Steelers before the start of free agency.

So with the Starks franchise (and I believe signing of Nate that will happen),  can we afford keeping McFadden?  I thought Gay played well enough to warrant the starting spot and then figure out what to do about the 4th DB spot.

If McFadden goes, then IMO, we use a #1 or #2 on a CB in the draft (since they've decided that Max is the man)

Seems like Colbert is pessimistic on the McFadden resign, and likes the play of Mr. Gay.  (Why not since he played pretty good when BM was out)  That would probably mean a CB in round 1 or 2 as mentioned- unless they're high on Roy Lewis.
