Interesting that Parcells had the inside coaching track, stole Ireland for his GM and Sparano as HC.  Why not Garrett?  One theory: Sparano's more "malleable" (a yes-man).  Another theory: he's better than Garrett.  A third theory: he's more a system guy AND a better coach than Garrett.  But Blank's been burned too many times and wants the next big; Ravens always gotta follow the Steelers model, and want the young maverick; a bidding war where both parties are bidding for, I dunno, the next Lane Kiffin?

Fuck the Ratties, that's all I know.

Let's see: take over an aging Ravens D with discipline issues, in a division where Pittsburgh is king and Cleveland's ascending; take over in Atlanta, which is a hot mess; or stay put, get paid more than many HCs, and take over the reins of what is (now) a pretty hot team.  Decisions, decisions.

Boils down to, Garrett didn't wanna be Tomlin's bitch.  Smart man.

Tice would be sweet. Talk about turning over the asylum to the inmates!

You'll regret saying that when he's hired and we trot out the best special teams unit in all of football!  The offense and defense may not change, but who needs that when you have a special teams guru!
