Mewelde Moore-RB- Steelers Mar. 3 - 2:20 pm et

Steelers signed RB Mewelde Moore, formerly of the Vikings, to a three-year contract.

Despite trying to trade for him last October, the Bucs never showed interest. Moore, only 25, hardly played in 2007 behind Adrian Peterson and Chester Taylor, but holds a career 4.9 yards-per-carry average and is an excellent receiver. He'll cut into third-down playing time of Najeh Davenport and Willie Parker, while competing to handle kickoff and punt duties.

Cool.  I really like it.   FWP, Dookie, Moore, Russell.

Seems like we got our Return man too.

If we do cut Dookie, it opens an even $1M in cap space.

Just sayin'.

I think we need to keep the truck for depth.

Moore's deal is worth about $4 million over three years, with a roughly $1 million signing bonus. I think most teams keep that change in their free agency petty cash.

Not bad for a guy that could prove to be a useful role player.

In this day and age of FA, one can't expect much better.

Moore has averaged over 10-yards per punt return in his career (74 returns) with two going for touchdowns.

Looks to be an excellent pass catcher, as well.

No complaints with this move at all.
