Steelers | Team called about Ferguson
Sun, 16 Mar 2008 16:32:15 -0700

Judd Zulgad, of the Minneapolis Star Tribune, reports Brian Overstreet, agent for Minnesota Vikings WR Robert Ferguson, said the Pittsburgh Steelers called about the availability of Ferguson before he re-signed with the Vikings. The Steelers did not schedule a meeting with Ferguson.

Wouldn't have minded singing Bryant Johnson if we're gonna go down that road.

Signed a 1 yr $2 mil deal with the niners....

I don't have any problems with replacing Ced with a Ced-like wily vet at the minimum.  Yeah, fine, whatever.  But I do have issues with getting players who've suffered the dreaded Lis Franc.  (See, Staley, Duce "Gray Sweats.")  That said, Ferguson was OK in a small role in Minnie, and the WR-desperate Bears are also sniffing around RF.

If we wind up cutting Ced and Mahan, be a couple of nice cap moves.

Out of my mind on Saturday night...

Seems to me that Minnesota is quickly becoming what the Lions used to be for Pittsburgh 3, 4, 5, or 6 years ago.

For an obvious reason.

But, a Minnesota WR?

Gotta say, I'm not too crazy about this in general.  After all, it's not like Minny is this powerhouse of uber talent.  Then again, neither were the Lions, so maybe I'm just reading too much into it.
