I am sure we won't get any, but if anyone hears anything let us know.

Life is to short to root for a losing team!

2008 Comps will be distributed based on the loss of Free Agents prior to the '07 season.  The Steelers' '07 FA losses amounted to Sean Morey & Rodney Bailey, while they signed Sean Mahan & Nick Eason.  Its safe to bet your first-born that there will be no comps awarded.  If not,... bet my first-born.  27 year olds can be such a pain in the ass sometimes.

Cleveland:  The only NFL city to never play in, or host, a Superbowl.  That bears repeating.

Squat, as expected.

Steelers | Team will not receive compensatory draft picks
Mon, 31 Mar 2008 12:19:32 -0700

Ed Bouchette, of the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette, reports the Pittsburgh Steelers will not receive any compensatory draft picks for the 2008 NFL Draft. Compensatory picks are issued based on a formula that takes into account what teams lost in free agency a season ago compared to what they acquired in free agency a season ago.

Further updates - The New England Patriots will recieve a first round comp pick as a result of the pick they lost due to "circumstances beyond their control."  The aforementioned circumstances were getting caught cheating.  According to a source from the league office, "Clearly, this was an unexpected result of their illegal videotaping.  They had no idea they would get caught, and the resulting loss of a draft pick we feel upset the competitive balance of the league."

Also, the Patriots will recieve an additional first round pick for another "circumstance beyond their control."  "There is no reasonable way to predict the Giants would come back to win behind Eli-friggin-Manning.  Plus, the way their front four beat the hell out of Brady - who'd a thunk it?"

Finally, they will recieve additional picks for the mental anguish imposed on Brady, Belichek, and the entire Pats organization for blowing what could have been the greatest season in NFL history.  "It's hard to figure out appropriate compnsation for that, so what we'll do is, on draft day, whenever the Pats call us and say 'we're ready to pick again.' we'll just insert a pick there.  We probably won't do this more than 5 or 6 times, though.  Unless there's somebody they really, really, want and they say please.  Politeness is important, after all."
