October 26 - December 7 will tell the story of the 2008 season. That is a BRUTAL stretch. Good thing 5 of the 7 games will be at home.

I swear, postgazette.com had this posted at 2:01! Down here in Deadskins country, no one even cares that the schedule's out.

Caught some breaks, some not so good. Got short weeks prior to two playoff teams (Jax and Indy). On the bright side, our bye is well placed - after Jacksonville. If tradition holds, that will be our most physical game of the year. Also have 10 days before the NE game. Both games after extended breaks are road games (Cincy and NE), so don't have to worry about lost prep time for those. One road game on a short week, but the Steelers should know Jacksonville pretty well, so won't be that much new to learn.

At least we won't be subjected to any of those assinine "well, look at your weak schedule..." arguments.
Not that they have any validity in the first place.

Obviously Tomlin had a few missteps his rookie year, but I hope he uses this SOS as a motivation (have to beat the best to be the best). I really am expecting some coaching improvements all along the line this year... This is his litmus test. Not that going 8-8 would make me want to can him, but if we can go better than 10-6 and first round of the playoffs this year, it'll be that much more meaningful.
Of course, April's contenders are December's pretenders, so who knows. The Chargers might turn to mush, the Patriots may finally fall the fuck apart, and maybe Peyton breaks a leg the week before we play him.

AJ, you're not kidding about the Patsies schedule! I guess this is their 'slap on the wrist' for Spygate. Looks like Belidick had his knee pads on...

Actually, it looks to me like the NFL had determined New England's schedule (minus two games) all the way back in 2002, and coincidentally enough, the AFC East, AFC West and NFC West were the three worst divisions in the NFL in 2007.
Of course, the NFL knew how strong each division would be six years in advance.

, the Patriots may finally fall the fuck apart,
Would make even a medicore Steeler season seem enjoyable. The best we can hope for is Walsh to have the daming SB cheating evidence, and Beardy rips 3 knee ligs on the first drive.
Brutal schedule for shizzle. I don't see worse than 8-8, but its hard to imagine an improvement on 10-6. Especially with the same achilles heel as last year.
