Anyone else see this? http://thepensblog.com/2014-archives/video-of-how-the-james-neal-trade-went-down-reveals-the-penguins-had-another-trade-in-place.html

Apparently, Rutherford had a deal in place to acquire the #23 pick and then package #22 & #23 for the Predators #11.  Just curious what he was willing to give up for Colorado‚Äôs #23.  Pretty cool insight into the Neal trade none the less.

Looks like they signed Despres to a two year 900k per contract, one way deal.  That's good news to me because I think it means he'll be in the top 6.

Stempniak signs with the Rags for 900k. I haven't done a lot of bitching this offseason but that's a deal the Penguins should have made. Very versatile player with sneaky skill. Would have been a good fit on the third line and wouldn't embarrass himself on the top 2.

NHL gms are dumb:

Engelland 3 years 2.9 million per
Glass 3 years 1.4 million per
Shawn Thorton 2 years 1.2 million per
Lee Stempniak 1 year 900k

Who would you rather have skating on your team? Gives me faint hope some maroon will trade for Scuderi.

Would be nice if Adam Payerl could take a step forward this year and be a 4th line guy.  He's only been in the AHL a little over two years, right?
