I bet we'd be able to shoehorn a second rounder out of 'em for Mewelde Moore.

Maybe. But I think we're going to see some Cowherism here with Tomlin: he's gonna have his faves, e.g., Mahan is not already dead. Expect him to be a utility backup C/G of all the mad skill of a Todd F. Fordham. Moore's Minnie connexion ensures him a spot, ESPECIALLY since he's got the hoi-ly coveted PR skills.
Also, why's Dookie been sitting out practices? Injury, or "we don't want our trade bait getting a high ankler" typa thang? Fwip, Shard, Weldy, and Glengarry Glen Russell is a fine HB set for me. Ax for a three, take a four.

Can I get an "Amen" on that one?
Doubt we'll do it, as we rarely seem to make trades, but the Bears are desperate and we have half-decent trade bait.

It'd be great to something other than cap relief for the Dookster. Not sure what they would give for him, if anything. Alexander is available as well as a couple other experienced backs. They do know him from his Packer days though. I don't expect him to be traded, but we'll see.
On a side note, why did you have to remind us all about Mahan still being around and riding the pine Finny? Combined with Starks, that's almost 10 mil going to backup OLmen this year. Is it me or is that little crazy? Starks may win a starting spot, but its not looking likely right now(see recent PPG article
http://www.post-gazette.com/pg/08161/888463-66.stm
). Mahan is a POS and should be cut. ASAP. Starks? He still has potential and performed OK last year filling in, but 6.8 mil to watch from the sideline? I almost hope Smith gets hurt, so Starks can play and we can all feel better about handing him that loot.......almost....

Mahan's hit's about $3M, which is a lot for what will presumably be a backup. Starks is more complicated: STILL could sign a long-term deal, and IMO will win a spot.
LT - Marvel Smith, Trai Essex (*guessing they IR Hills?)
LG - Chris Kemoeatu, Sean Mahan
C - Justin Hartwig, Darnell Stapleton
RG - Willie Colon, Kendall Simmons
RT - Max Starks
That's 9, with some flex (Mahan as 3rd C, Stapleton can backup OG, etc.). With 10, maybe Hills, or maybe Capizzi? I just think Hills was coming off a severe injury, and they might run him through camp but declare him injured before the cut down.

Ya, Starks could still sign a long term deal. And he may indeed win a starting spot, but that will be up to Larry and Tomlin who seem to like Simmons and Colon. If Simmons gets pushed aside thats also a big investment not playing, considering his recent extension. Hopefully the 5 guys who end up starting an do a reasonably good job this year. Its just hard to imagine that the second highest paid Steeler for '08(at least for now) can't crack the starting lineup.

I thought this thread was going to be about LeChuck, who was released by the Stains.

He was messed up

. Maybe he thinks he'll play this year, but I'm not so sure. Risky.
