Man, I like the guy, but he's made out of glass....so an injury like this is usually what, like six to eight weeks?

Who do we sign as a replacement...Culpepp er?...or dare I say it, Pennington??

I think Pennington can easily start for a team like Miami. Was Culpepper in Minny during Tomlin's short stay? Maybe there's some connection between the two.

Leftwich is available as far as I know.

There's always Jeff George. LOL!

Well, how did Dixon look?  I recorded but haven't had a chance to watch yet.

If its a six to eight weeker, I vote to hold my breath and allow Dixon to be the back-up for those three weeks or so.

Longer..sign Leftwich, Culpeper, etc....

Hope the line keeps Ben safe!

didn't see all of Dixon's series.  From what I saw he looked OK, but I wouldn't be comfortable with him as our #2.

Need to find a solid vet backup.

Even if it were just for a few series or so during the regular season, Id rather see someone who's been-there-done-that filling in for Ben as opposed to Dixon. He looked extremely raw in a conventional NFL offense. He's a runner, not a passer.

BTW, did it happen on the busted play where he put his head down trying to get the first?  I think he was in for a play after that, so not sure.

If so, I appreciate the effort, but even at the time I was thinking why the hell is he doing that in a preseason game?  Not like he has to try to win a spot.

As far as the need to sign a vet;  if they do, I'd definitely take Culpepper over Leftwich, for one reason only.  Or Oline pass protection was poor last year, and doesn't appear to be upgrading based on who started the game.  Gotta have a QB with some mobility.  Leftwich is a sitting duck back there.
