The 212 says it's 4-6 weeks.  Do we need to sign anyone, then?

I thought Dixon looked good for a first preseason game.  I mean, good enough.

And FUCK Chris Simms.

Pennington singed with the Fins.

What's TOOMY MADDOUX doing these days?

it happened on the busted play, running back went right instead of left, batch took off to the left, broke a couple tackles then took a shot straight to the collar bone.

I thought Dixon looked pretty good, considering it was his first NFL game. High completion percentage, though it was a bunch of short passes. He did complete a deep pass downfield to Gerran Walker, but it was called back on a hold. He's also very, very fast. Nothing like Omar Jacobs.

Ditto that.  Hope to see him get better each game.

Don't see the Jacobs comparison at all.

That hold was awful, but I was impressed that Dixon got the pass off.  Even more impressed w/the catch.  And didn't I see Omar Jacobs playing for someone this weekend?

Why not let Dixon get the majority of preseason snaps, and hang on until Charlie returns?

The one thing that's obvious, with or without Batch, is that we are pretty much toast without Ben.  No matter how great James Harrison is, Ben is the MVP of this team.

Didn't Dixon have a 40+yard pass called back on a PI?

I either don't remember the long pass or somehow missed it completely.   That said, I don't really care about how fast a QB is.  To me their job is to be run the team and move the ball.  Preferably through pass completions, preferably through ones longer than 5 yards.  Maybe I am being overly harsh, and yes I know it is his first preseason game in the NFL, but I just didn't see anything to get me excited.

Steelers sign Leftwich and Daunte Culpepper (per link via DJF at MGP)

Interesting.  I'm assuming they'll only keep on of em.  Then when Batch comes back who goes?  Surely they don't expect Dixon to last on the PC.

I think that has to be wrong.  Culpepper didn't come in, and balked at deals elsewhere where he wouldn't be the man.  Color be dubious on DC...

Edit*:  The Trib says the team might sign Leftwich OR Culpepper, which makes more sense than signing both.  Would assume that means they're not signing DC sight unseen, so expect a visit?
