It's a sad, sad day in Pittsburgh.

Boller entered the preseason competing for the starting job with Troy Smith and top draft pick Joe Flacco, who ultimately won the job because of Boller's injury and Smith's lengthy battle with infected tonsils.

Not exactly a ringing endorsement of the rook.

We just signed Byron Leftwich as the vet backup.

The Ratties just signed Todd Bouman as the vet backup.

Todd Bouman!

Are they just trying to be funny now?

Smith's lengthy battle with infected tonsils.

Training Staff:  Troy Smith has finger problem
Per PFT
Wednesday, September 2

Don Hendley sang about having dirty little fingers in everybody's pie.  Perhaps he can do one about having dirty little fingers in your nose.

Ravens training staff has said that Quarterback Troy Smith is continuing to have infected nostrils because he continues to pick his nose without washing his hands.  "It's really disgusting," said one staffer.  "I walked into the whirlpool room and Troy was fisting his own left nostril."

Rumor has it that the Ravens now have an intern to make sure Troy is fully supplied with Purel at all times.  Other measures include taping on ski gloves so that he cannot get any fingers into his nostrils.

Sadly, this greatly improves Baltimore's chances at winning a game or two.
