They're dropping like flies! He just couldn't make it with the knee as is, and is scheduled for a total reconstruction. Ouch.

Just to prove I don't have an unreasonable anti-Beardy bias...

... The league is a better place without Merriman, too.

gee, you think a 100% healthy backup for Merriman would have prevented Delhomme from completing that last minute TD pass????  hmmm? huh?

fuck him and SD, hope that loss has huge playoff implications.  and fuck you Norv Turner for being the idiot that you are!

Merriman had only two tackles in a shocking 26-24 loss to Carolina at home on Sunday. Even though Merriman appeared to be a non-factor, coach Norv Turner said he thought the linebacker looked "explosive and very physical."

Heres to you, consult4doctors, cant face reality, gimp LB guy!  Shawne Meriman, you, truly are a real man of genious.  and FFS who puts an "e" at the end Shawn anyway??

This is a huge blow to the league.

It's a sad day for the NFL to lose such a leader and an ambassador for the game.

The Chargers didn't lose a player, they lost the heart and soul of their team.

This franchise is Shawne Merriman.

Etc.

Etc.

Steroids often cause injuries.  Including shrinkage.

Idiot never should have stepped onto the field in the first place, and the Chargers were morons for letting him.
