At the start of football season, I go into this thing trying to have my eyes wide open. Trying to be realistic. Trying to recognize the Stillers for what they are and for what they potentially can be (within reason).
Then, it happens.
The glimmer of hope.
Before kickoff, I honestly believed that the Steelers were what we saw last year: A pretty good team that would make it to the playoffs. At best, we were a contender for the division and possible host for a R1 playoff game. At best, we win one playoff game, then start talking about next year. At best, we give the Pansies a fit in round 2, setting them up for another late-season failure.
Then it happened. Again.
Brady goes down.
The Jags lose to the Titans.
The Browns get smoked.
The Chargers lose to the Panthers??? (Who were w/o Steve Smith, mind you)
The Colts lose to the Bears.
The Chargers lose SCHWAN MERRIWIDOW.
And all of the sudden, I'm thinking:
Why NOT us???
Oh, Bellychimp will parlay this into some great motivational technique for a while. No one respects you, they think Beardy is the team, they think you can't play, it was a dirty hit, yadayadayada. But in the end, they are mediocre w/o Brady. We have just as good a chance as anyone to make some noise this season, and possibly start putting rings on the other hand.
I wish I didn't think that way, but I just can't help it.
