Seriously though, this situation had perplexed me since they tagged him. Tomlin has been questioned time and again by the local media and will not talk about it other than saying the best players are playing. Some media types have alluded to a conflict between the front office and coaching staff and maybe Tomlin is just proving a point by not playing Starks. It's almost like he's saying, you can sign him but I don't have to play him. I expect Starks to command a fairly decent contract next year regardless. Even average/aging linemen are breaking the bank in free agency lately

Idiots on the #1 Cochran Sports Show on KDKA last night said it's a difference of opinion between the coaches and the front office.  FO wants him, coaching staff doesn't.  So it's what someone posted.  Tomlin is telling them they can sign him, but he won't play the guy.
