Boy, those guys are really feeling good about the Steelers!

"JV Season Over"

"Not a Good Performance"

Did we play our best ball?  No.  Did we allow Cincy to hang around too long?  Yes.

Did we stomp them into the ground when crunch time came?  Absolutely!

After reading Collier and Smizik, I had to go back and check the box score.  I wanted to make sure that we actually won the game.

If you had asked me on Aug. 30, "How would you feel if the Steelers started 5-1?"  I would have said, "Thrilled!"  We've played some brutal, physical games, suffered all kinds of injuries, and we still come out of it with one of the best records in the league.  It's a tough road ahead, but I see no reason to believe that we can't navigate it to a solid playoff position.

Agreed Preach. They really need to get some perspective over there.

Smizik is always curmudgeonly though.  He probably bitched about the last Superbowl win not being pretty enough.

They did let Cincy stay in the game for too long, though.

"JV Season Over"

Funny.  That's pretty much what a lot of the NY media talking heads were chirping this morning regarding the Giants' win over SF and their upcoming game versus Pittsburgh.

"NY is in for a rude awakening this weekend..."

"Haven't faced a team like them all year..."

"Other than 1 or 2 games, NY hasn't looked all that great, but they've still managed to win most of their games..."

Yada...yada...yada...

Listen, every team goes through ups and downs throughout the year.  Even the best teams have a hard time maintaining a top shelf level of play, game after game.  It's almost impossible to do.  However, the better teams, the playoff-type teams can win games even when they don't play well.

That's what the Steelers have done.  That's what the Giants have done.  Now we get to see how they do heads up.

Giddy.  Up.

I'll feel much better about the prospects of stopping the Gints running game if Big Snack can get back in there.

I can't stomach the thought of losing to dumbface jr.

It's bad enough we have to read the ESPN coverage (or lack of) about the Steelers.  Our local media too?

But, it should have easily Been 28-0 in the second.  A couple of mistakes by our young guards and couple of missed passes by an inch let the bungs hang around.  Please remove that 3rd and 1 running play off right tackle from the playbook.
