Price of gas where you are
«

I was filling up the tank Friday, and never thought I'd be thanking my lucky stars for $2.65/gal. gas.
On Monday, the same station had dropped prices to $2.59/gal.
Guess all this shit's relative. Hell, maybe our home heating oil will actually be
less
than last year's...
Haven't read anything on why it's dropping, but my theory is that with the credit crunch, cash money is the hottest commodity, even more so than oil. So if the bailout works, gas will go back up. Hey, I don't need any loans right now, I can live with cheaper gas!
So how much are all y'all
1
paying?

Last time I got gas, about 2 weeks ago it was 3.65. I saw some last week at 2.99. I have to get gas tonight so I'll be checking out stations on the way home.
$2.65 almost seems like free gas, and that is absolutely pathetic.

I'm surprised you need to buy gas at all, Virg.
I just assumed you'd bike everywhere. Old lady needs a new washing machine? No prob, Virg bikes to Lowe's, straps the baby onto his back, and burns 8,321 calories as he climbs 1,242 feet bringing it home, stopping only for a quick bite of an energy bar...

Upstate SC is in the $2.70 range. Cross the line into NC and it typically runs about 30 cents higher.

I saw 2.49 today in upstate SC. Where r u at, msdmnr?
This was actually on the way prior to Ike hitting. Saudis walked out of OPEC, said they were going to keep selling to whoever was buying. Supplies were on the way up prior to the hurricane.
Also, with the rest of the market going down, commodities just followed the trend. No one is buying anything onthe market right now.
I'm actually thinking of buying stock in GM right now. At these prices, I think I have enough in savings to buy the company.

$2.75 in the city of of Bawlmore
Read today that Russia, Qatar and some other country want to create an OPEC-like group for natural gas. And that has made Europe and NA pretty nervous.

That's funny!!!!
If I was closer to work, I'd ride 2 or 3 days per week. I'm 20 miles each way right now, and I just don't have kind of time. If I was 10, I'd definitely do it.

I am filling up at $2.83 tomorrow, hopefully it is lower. Near my house the price is still around $2.95 but by my work, in a different county, it is $2.83. Living in a state capital makes the price of everything that much higher but I am excited to pay $2.83. For my trip to the 'Burgh on Saturday I am at the mercy of the Thruway which is typically $.20-$.30 higher than anywear else. Gotta love NY.
