Pens vs Rangers

The first place Atlantic Division rivals are coming off a 4-0 beating by the Florida Panthers on November 30. Zherdev and Naslund are leading the way in points on the Rangers roster. They also have the second best home record and King Henry is leading the league in wins (15). The Rangers are healthy.
During our last meeting, they beat us 3-2 in a SO. They have a league-best 6-1 record in the SO. Not good news for us if we plan on playing a close/catch-up game. We are not exactly stellar when it comes to the SO. We are 0-3-2 over the last fives games at MSG. Boucher (week-to-week) and Fleury are both out.
I think it's also worth noting that the Rangers are having problems with Petr Prucha, who has been a healthy scratch for the last ten games and has refused a minor league assignment in Hartford.
Also, Staal and Cooke will replace Gill and Scuderi as alternate captains this month. The Penguins plan on rotating two alternate captains every month until Gonchar returns from his injury.
