I saw that this morning, pretty quick reaction for a shrub.

Wonder what happened to the guy who threw the shoes?  A year ago and he'd probably already be beaten half to death in some Syrian prison.  Now?  Who knows?

Surely that sounds better in Iraqi dialect than it does in English.

Supposedly, throwing your shoe at someone is like the worst Iraqi insult.  I guess it does lose something in translation.  The second worst insult is to screw that person's goat. 

Here in America, we all know what the worst insult is.  But he's leaving us in just a little over a month...
