So long as Ryan Clark is not seriously injured, I am not overly concerned by this result.

For whatever reason, you could clearly see that the one seed meant a lot more to the Titans then the Steelers, and the way they played reflected that. I felt like the Steelers played very vanilla, a 'rope-a-dope' approach to the game, if you will.

They got the "we have not allowed a 300 yard game" nonsense out of the way....better now then when it counts...also, this "blowout loss" (or how the media will portray it, we know the game itself was closer) will cause everyone to say we are 'done' and keep us under the radar (while still also having a bye, mind you).

We all know how much better the Steelers usually play with a chip on their shoulders.

To top this game off, they show the terrible towel shenanigans by the Titan players..how'd that work out for TJ and the Bengals?

Believe me, if we play these bitches again in the playoffs, we will smash them...rest assured.

Time to rest up, time for some guys to heal, and hopefully have a good warm-up jog out for a victory with our backups against the Browns next week.

Keep the faith guys...

I agree... There wasn't a no huddle, no real blitzes... standard package D.  I'm looking fwd to watching the game tonight again.

The part that bothered me the most was the poor decision making by Ben.  Should have had a 3 nothing lead there.  I'm hoping that he'll realize in the playoffs that he needs to be more conservative w/ his decisions.

This was just a recon mission, IMO.

I will say the lack of a running game and the spotty line play is a cause for concern, but it has been all season so it is what it is.

I really hope they come out the way they did on the run in '05.

I seriously cannot think of a first and goal PAP all season.....would be a good time to pull it out in the playoffs, don't ya think???

Hell, maybe they're saving it.  Then again, PAP only works when there's the threat of a successful run ...

Granted, Jonzr....but maybe something can be had in those situations, as the other team always sells out to stop the run (and for good reason).

It's less that I think they're running is successful and we can fuel the PAP off of it, and more that they can fool the other team because of the tendencies they have shown all season.

I hear ya, but wonder if anyone will be fooled?  But it's certainly something I'd like to see them try.

Not a big deal...fine w/ the 2nd seed.  As long as we get a bye week, that's what this defense needs.  Some better stuff from the O...thought the TD drives were nice.  Could have been a third INT to Finnegan...hate to see that type of miscommunication that late in the season but there's time to correct it.

Always tough for me to watch the Steelers lose even if a win wouldn't have done much for the postseason.

FWP was awful today...kind of tired of his "jukey juke" moves, just hit the fucking hole like Moore....he looks so much tougher than Willie with his diving for the first and getting out of bounds...he just seems to have that same fire FWP had 2 years ago.  but honestly, I'm glad we lost this game because it seems like we can only win when we are behind the 8 ball or unfavored...this week everyone picked us, i was super confident we were going to win...i want to be the underdog, don't you?

The seeding does not bother me, but that offense does and it has nothing to do with Sunday's loss.  They haven't had an identity all season long and the team as a whole doesn't have balance because of the offense.  Not just during this past Sunday.

The defense can save our butt's for a few games straight, but eventually that offense has to start showing me something and quite frankly, they have looked like shit if you ask me.  Maybe I'm just being pessimistic and they will surprise me and win the whole thing with the defense, but I wouldn't bank on it.  Something has to be done before playoff time.

Sorry for being the pessimist here, but I'm not liking it when it comes to winning a Super Bowl at this point in time.

Another positive to take away from this game:

The Titans showed everyone how to beat the Steelers D.  Patience, hitting the outside with quick passes and pitches.

They have plenty of time to figure out a way to defend that.
My two cents:

-Apply more pressure to the QB.  Rush Harrison and Woodley more frequently.  It's what they do best, no?  The lack of pressure allowed Collins to find the seems and get the ball to the edges.

-Play more of a man scheme w/ safety help over top.  Ike, Gay, and McFadd can be more aggressive.

-The 3&20 gain was a little anomalous.  99% of the time that does not get completed.

-Finally I love the plan to have Polamalu up on the line during obvious running downs.  So many times in the last few games he has knifed into the backfield to hit the RB from behind.  He has the speed to bail and  cover the TE on a PAP.

-One additional thing, I think Timmons needs to start in the playoffs.  Larry Foote had one of the worst games I've seen him play yesterday w/ whiffs, getting out of lanes, and just run over.  Timmons has the speed to get out and cover the edges with aggression.
