After mowing down on some grub over Christmas I took a drink and it went down the wrong pipe.  I began to cough and felt something pop in my head and got an instant headache.  Well the headache is pretty intense and nothing can quell the pain.  It has been going on for about a week now.  Any thoughts on what might be wrong with me?  Wife wants me to go to the emergency room, I have insurance so it is not a problem, but I was hoping this would just go away.

Thoughts

Well, I'm not a doctor but I stayed in a Hotel 6 once.  Not quite as good as a Holiday Inn, so take it for what it's worth: it's only your head, dude, no worries...

Seriously, why would you NOT go to the doctor?

There is one doc on here, but haven't seen him post in a week or so.  Probably in some far away tropical land.

You don't even need to go to the E.R., since today is a weekday and you regular doctor is "open".  Depending the insurance and copay, it is almost worth it to go to the E.R. since there are several doctors and specialists on site.  That is speaking from an HMO point of view.

Go to the emergency room.
Intense headaches that last for a week are not normal.

I'm a Juris Doctor, so you can trust me.   Wink

Seriously dude, at least go to Urgent Treatment.  And do it before tonite or you'll be waiting for days.

Go.
Now.

Intense head pain that's lasted a whole week?

Uh, I'd listen to the wife.  She sounds kinda smart.

Oh, that reminds me, Dead Pool lists are due by January 15th.

I'm not a Doctor, but I have quite a few old posters of him.

I'd tell friends and family to save those Xmas receipts.

Now put on your Santa suit and go out in style.

Brinker might not have the choice as to how he goes out.
