Think he said he just tweaked/twisted his knee.
Said no way he misses the Super Bowl.

According to the Post Gazette, he has a "slightly sprained MCL" and is expected to be ready for the Super Bowl.

Ward says he won't miss Super Bowl
By Scott Brown, TRIBUNE-REVIEW
Monday, January 19, 2009

Hines Ward will have an MRI taken on his sprained right knee but the Steelers wide receiver said he doesn't expect to miss the Super Bowl because of the injury he sustained last night.

Ward, who did not play in the second half of the Steelers' 23-14 win over the Ravens in the AFC Championship game, said preliminary tests that were taken did not show any structural damage. Ward hurt his knee when his foot got caught in the turf at Heinz Field after he made an 11-yard catch in the first quarter.

"I don't plan on missing this game, trust me," Ward said of the Feb. 1 Super Bowl. "Don't worry about the knee."

Ward caught three passes for 55 yards last night and became just the second player in Steelers history to go over 1,000 yards receiving in the postseason. He returned to the game after getting hurt near the end of the first quarter but came out for good in the second quarter.

"I didn't want to go out there and hurt our team if I wasn't 100 percent. I probably could have played at maybe 75 or 80 percent," Ward said. "I'm going to be ready for the Super Bowl."

Ward, the MVP of Super Bowl XL, led the Steelers in receiving during the regular season and posted his third 1,000-yard receiving season since 2004.
