Super Bowl tickets not selling

Due to a combination of the economy and disinterest, tickets aren't selling. I think we may see some bargains as the game nears. It would be cool if tickets started selling for $500 or less at the last minute.

I'm glad. The prices are straight up larceny. So now a bunch of fat cats don't have unlimited expense accounts. Boo-fucking hoo.

But once again, someone will get a bailout check just in time.

I've been toying with the idea of renting a car, driving down Saturday and trying to scoop up a reasonably priced ticket closer to game time - is that completely crazy, or do you all think it's worth a shot?

You'll know by Thursday or Friday, just keep your eye on the tickets they're selling on Stub Hub, if a bunch of them start dropping down to $500 or so, then you can definitely get a deal at the stadium.

Shit, if they get down to $500 on StubHub, I'm going to have to grip one up there....at that point, they would be $300 below this year's minimum face (at least by most reports I've seen). I don't see them going below face value though...not at least until after ball is kicked off.

Got the hotel lined up in St. Pete Beach for the entire weekend...gawd, I hope I stumble on a good deal. Otherwise it'll just be Steel City Mafia events and Steeler bars.

Several Steeler Bars in the Pinellas COunty area (St. Pete)
Rudys (on Belcher I think). Line forms EARLY there on game day
Pittsburgh Pete's (On Bryan Dairy). Very Small
AJ's (On Ulmerton). One room designated for Steelers during the season, entire bar is now. Smoking indoors permitted
Others around too, this is just off the top of my head

Watch out for counterfeiters. We even saw a few before the Browns' game, and you probably want to check BleedGreen's post about this. StubHub is guarenteed if you can find a good deal.
