Tomlin tenure thread v. 2.0
«

Since the original thread got fragged somehow, I've redone it in a different way. I've listed the coaches from #1 on down to Tomlin. 3 reasons:
1. Tomlin's now in top half of list.
2. Don't really care who's behind him.
3. Won't have to keep updating this list when multifires occur.
So, here it is:
1. Jeff Fisher, Titans - hired 11/1994
2. Andy Reid, Eagles - 1/11/99
3. Bill Belichik, Pats - 2000
4. John Fox, Panthers - 2002
5. Marvin Lewis, Bengals - 1/2003
6. Jack Del Rio, Jags - 2003
7. Tom Coughlin, Giants - 1/6/04
8. Lovie Smith, Bears - 2004
9. Brad Childress, Vikes - 1/6/06
10. Mike McCarthy, Pack - 1/12/06
11. Sean Payton, Saints - 1/17/06
12. Dick Jauron, Bills - 1/23/06
13. Gary Kubiak, Texans - 1/26/06
14. Ken Whisenhunt, Cards - 1/14/07
15. Mike Tomlin, Steelers - 1/22/07

Thanks for the research on the longer tenured coaches. Better format, this.
What happened to the old one? It's a mystery.

I hear that Vinman is a real asshole, he probably took it down.
Edit...Incidentally, I do like the new format of the tenure list. Great work.

Maybe it was a drunken deleting rage?

Thanks, I like this better too. Always better to look ahead.
Would not surprise me one bit to see Tomlin crack the top 10 after next season, especially considering all the guys with SB rings available out there. Hell, Brad frigging Childress could be top 5 with four years experience.

Fourteen guys ahead of Tomlin on the tenure list.
Three have Super Bowl rings as head coaches (Belichick, Coughlin, Smith).

Isn't it only two that have rings? I don't have Smith with a band of gold (or platinum I guess...)

Given the state several of the teams are in on that list- I wouldn't be surprised to see Tomlin in the top 10 next year and top 5 the year after that.
Getting Fisher, Belichick, and Whiz out of office will be tough.
