1. Andy Reid, Eagles - 1/11/99
2. Bill Belichik, Pats - 2000
3. Marvin Lewis, Bengals - 1/2003
4. Jack Del Rio, Jags - 2003
5. Tom Coughlin, Giants - 1/6/04
6. Lovie Smith, Bears - 2004
7. Mike McCarthy, Pack - 1/12/06
8. Sean Payton, Saints - 1/17/06
9. Gary Kubiak, Texans - 1/26/06
10. Ken Whisenhunt, Cards - 1/14/07
11. Mike Tomlin, Steelers - 1/22/07
Multifirings:
Raiders 2
Redskins 1
Seahawks 1
Cowboys 1
Broncos 1
49ers 1
Browns 1
Good call, Finny. Apparently done deal. The Fish is sleeping with the...well, you know.
Took Reid 12 years to get to #1. Looks like about what it will take for TOmlin. Maybe longer. McCarthy's got the QB, defense, and franchise stability to allow him to dig in like a tick in GB.

I get the sense that Reid's window is under 5 years.
Belichick? Who the fuck knows.
Lewis and Del Rio are on thin ice, IMO, whether their owners are willing to admit.
Coughlin, also under 5.
Lovie, could swing either way, as one might expect of a coach named Lovie. Bears could underwhelm and adios; or he could take the mantle of the new Fisher.
McCarthy and Payton I think could be in for the long haul. Payton's a guy I think highly of, McCarthy has similar strengths and weaknesses to Tomlin.
Kubes is running on fumes.
Whiz, IMO, is solid for 5+ unless he can't corral the troops and get some playoffs soon, which he should be able to.
2016 prognostication:
1. Belicheat
2. McCarthy
3. Payton
4. Whiz
5. Tomlin
Although my guess is that I'm wrong on one of 1-4 and Tomlin's already in the top 4 by then.

Gotta say, impressed by Mrs. Finny and her immersion in NFL trivia. 6 years ago, she cared zero about football aside from it being background noise when getting together with people. Tonight, I asked her to name the longest-tenured coaches.
Good bit of thought.
Reid. BAM!
Thinks some more.
Belichick. BAM!
Thinks long and hard.
Coughlin, Lovie. Yeah, but you missed one.
Oh, I know, she says. Coach of the Bengals, but I can never think of his name, always want to call him Herm Edwards. Close enough, Mrs.! You just ran the top six, sans Del Rio. Pretty damned good, and frankly can't say I'd have done better without this list having recently been visited.
BTW, half the list (5/11) hired '06 or '07. You make it 5 years, you're in the top 20% of the lig? Unreal.

The one thing all these guys except Whiz have in common - they have legit QBs. Whiz needs to find one if he wants to stay on this list.

Welcome to the top 10, MT! Del Rio ousted in a move long overdue.
Whiz and Reid only ones remotely close to a hot seat this year IMO, barring total free fall somewhere (Giants maybe). And I think WHiz still has some SB appearance credit.

Reid, Coughlin, and Whiz all on shaky ground. I'd bet against them going this year, but ya never know.

Between Reid and Coughlin, I think Reid will go first.
