Sparano and Haley, can't say it was unexpected.

Yeah, bad losses forced the owners' hands.  Looks like everyone's putting up the help wanted ads early in a small field of big name vet talent.

Said it before, say it again.  Cowher to KC.

I think Cowher learned his lesson the first time around.  Gotta have that franchise QB.  I doubt he goes anywhere that doesn't have one.  Cassel?  Meh.

If your prediction of Coughlin comes to fruition, I could easily see him in Giant blue.  Although, if they go to the playoffs, he might've saved his job (again) like he did in '07.

1.  Andy Reid, Eagles - 1/11/99
2.  Bill Belichik, Pats - 2000
3.  Marvin Lewis, Bengals - 1/2003
4.  Tom Coughlin, Giants - 1/6/04
5.  Lovie Smith, Bears - 2004
6.  Mike McCarthy, Pack - 1/12/06
7.  Sean Payton, Saints - 1/17/06
8.  Gary Kubiak, Texans - 1/26/06
9.  Ken Whisenhunt, Cards - 1/14/07
10.  Mike Tomlin, Steelers - 1/22/07

Multifirings:
Raiders 2
Redskins 1
Seahawks 1
Cowboys 1
Broncos 1
49ers 1
Browns 1
Chiefs 1
Dolphins 1
Rams 1
Bucs 1

Not sure Tomlin moves up any more this year.  6 of 9 ahead of him made playoffs.  Lovie lost QB and RB, Reid - maybe?, Whiz doubtful to be fired.  Interesting that already more teams have multifirings (11) than there are coaches with more tenure (9).  That number may go up still.  Norv and Caldwell possibly gone.

Presuming they find their guy in 2 weeks, 5 guys will have been coach of Raiders since Tomlin's hire - as he completes year 5.  One team has a SB win and another appearance during that time.  The other has consecutive 8-8 seasons as their great resurgence - and fires the coach that did it each time.  Hmmm.

Not worth copying again - just modified to add the Colts' latest axe.  That makes almost 40% of the league with multiple firings in the last 5 years.

No changes, and technically Payton still has his job, but I figure a 1 year suspension with no team contact deserves an asterisk.

Nobody updated niners.  Nolan, Singletary, John Harbaugh's more talented brother.

All I care about is who's AHEAD of Tomlin.  The rest is minutiae.

Nolan was active when Tomlin hired.  Nolan firing - Tomlin moves up.  Singletary firing=multifiring #1

Minutae?  This is some serious, important shit.  You say that as if the Raiders' inconsistencies at HC had nothing whatsoever to do with the oil refinery fire just a few miles away.
