Been saying all along 35-17 (Predictor IIRC says 41-14), and I'm sticking with that.

Won't get into all the stats, but I think Ben will be pretty careful with the ball.  Maybe one pick.  He should have a good day passing.  IMO, the Cards will sell out to stop the run, load the box and dare Ben to beat them.  He will.  Hines will be there for some key catches, but I expect a big day from 10, 83, and 85.

Said before I think they test Sweed deep again, and I'll bet they do that early in the 3Q, TD Sweed.

Edge won't get much rushing, and the D will force Knurwin to fumble and throw some picks.  I can see the Cards getting out to an early lead, like SD, and then getting shut the fuck down until late.  7-0 Cards, 7-7, 10-7 Steelers, 17-7 Steelers, 17-10 Steelers at the half; 24-10 Steelers, 31-10 Steelers, 31-17 Steelers, 34-17 Steelers.  OK, that didn't come to 35, but that's just the sort of back and forth I see going.  One defensive TD, maybe to get us over 30.

I think the first half is sort of tight, but by the end of the third we're partying.   But I'm keeping the defibrillators handy just in case.

I'd like to see Ben break Phil Simms record for the Super Bowl.  The target #'s are

Quote
He [Simms] completed 22 of 25 passes (with 2 of his 3 incompletions being drops by receivers) for 268 yards, setting Super Bowl records for consecutive completions (10), accuracy (88%), and passer rating (150.9).  In addition, he threw 3 touchdown passes and his passer rating set an NFL postseason record. "This might be the best game a quarterback has ever played," Giants coach Bill Parcells later said.

The more and more I hear about how great the Arizona offense is, the more and more I think this is going to be a one-sided asskicking. I'm thinking in the mold of the Bucs win over the Raiders years back. At least 1 defensive score. Early pressure/sacks from all angles and no looking back.  Steelers offense doesn't look great, but good enough to win, and no turnovers.

The Cards are a nice story and all, but in all honesty do not belong on the same field with the Steelers.

Final score 38-13. James Harrison MVP. 3 sacks, 2 ff and an int.

Okay, so I lied, one last post before I get on the bus:

Steelers win, 37-22

24-7 at half; 31-14 end 3rd; Cards put up a late TD and 2-pointer.

Let the praying begin!

26-6.

Warner, Arrington, Pope, and Morey all body-bagged outta there.

Ben runs wild and sets QB records.

Rackers the lone Zona bright spot.

Everyone who's know pumping up Arizona's chances as a legitimate threat, turncoats after the game and say's they've been exposed as a team that was just lucky to be there. Belittling Pittsburgh's competition in an effort to diminish accomplishments fulfilled.

Everyone in the wretched media will be celebrating Roethlisberger's performance as some emerging revelation. As if he stepped up out of nowhere and won a big game. Failing to acknowledge that this kid is the truth and the answer and whatever other flashy moniker means he's been destroying the competition like nobody else in history from day one on.

It is starting to really piss me off how so many analysts and fans in general are saying that the Cards are going to win....somehow comparing them to the Giants of last year, the "hot" team.  What about us, we went 12-4 with the hard schedule in the league.  We beat the teams that were put in front of us in the playoffs. I don't know about you, but I cannot wait for this beating.  I only can hope that we run it up on them.  Now I feel a little better.

I predict a fist to the face, gut, and balls of the Zona boys by the steelers.  You think the #1 D wont have a chip on their shoulders after all the talk on how will they solve the Cardinal O???  not the other way around as it should be.

its gonna be 1979 all over again.

I hope the outcome isn't similar to January of 1979.  Steelers won by 4 giving up 2 td's in the last 4 minutes and an easy TD pass dropped by, what's his name - was it Jackie Smith - can't think of his name right now.

one very good positive going into this game is the Steelers are wayyyyyyyyyyyyy more equipped to overcome TOs whereas the "mighty" Cardinals are NOT.  Bradshaw had how many INTs against the Rams back in 80?

very similar team makeup IMO as the 1979 team

As long as they're not at our own 10. Santonio better hold on to the ball if they hit him on that quick slant down there. Still pissed about that fumble.

Neil O'Donnellesque, I'd say.

Seriously, it may be considered sacreligious by many, but IMO, this defense is better; especially when you consider what it's like from the offensive side of the ball now.

Go ahead, flame away.
