I am finding the tone of this thread very depressing.

I'm getting the vibe that everyone who understands the intricacies of OL play thinks we are screwed.

Nah.  The opposite.  We WERE screwed, couldn't run consistently, couldn't seal the deal in the 2H of XLIII, and we STILL won the whole fucking thing.

Are we really saying that things will get worse than this group?

I say no.  Tomlin's not stupid.  Colbert finds guys at the top of the draft. 

Our line WILL be better this year.

Agreed.  I guess I didn't express it very well, but I was trying to say that it couldn't possibly get much worse. 

Arians will remain an idiot, but better personnel will be here and will help to compensate for his stupidity.  (see Roethlisberger, Ben for examples of how this has already happened).  We won the whole friggin' thing with mediocre coaching and talent.  Next year, we will at least have better talent up front.

With all do respect Finny, after watching the combine I like Meredith at tackle (at the very least on the right side).  Struck me as one of the most fluid.  Not basing this on the numbers but just the oh sh** factor in watching him move laterally. 

Watch all these guys Britton, Beatty, and Meredith creep up boards.

Andre Smith may fall like a rock - I have even seen a few references that it could be out of the first round entirely.  If he does dtop, that would set up an interesting dilemna for the Steelers.  A top-5 talent with motivational issues/stupidity at a position of exteme need.

Jchard, he's got some flags, but I still don't think he shakes out of the top 20. 

Polish, Meredith can definitely play tackle, but I just think he would be a good tackle... as opposed to a great guard.  Better than Colon at RT?  Shit yeah.
