Was never a huge fan of Therrien, but let go with 25 games remaining is pretty assinine???!!  nothing like letting a dude hang out to dry only 8 months removed from a stanley cup finals.

CYA move on Shero's part

Hosed by horrible offseason decision making made by the GM who comes out the other end clean as a whistle.

Pretty sad and pathetic. Oh well, this should be interesting for the remainder of our season, which be until April 11.

Fuck you Ray Shero!  You allow the likes of Gary Roberts, Ty Conklin, Ryan Malone, and Marion Hossa walk away while you replace them with the likes of Dany Sabourin, Miroslav Satan, Ruslan Fedotenko, and Matt Cooke, then you watch key injury after key injury take down valuable players on the team, and then instead of blaming yourself for failing to bring in talent, you take the easy way out, you take the low road, and you make a fucking fool of yourself.  Fuck you Ray Shero you fucking prick.

Get rid of this clown Mario.

Few points, whether you like the guy or not...

1 - He still got this team to the cup finals last year and to the playoffs the year before.

2 - His boss went out during this offseason and got him a over-hyped winger from Finland, a lazy bum in Miroslav Satan, a winger who is better suited on a third line in Fedotenko and a few role players and said, "Here you go, work with this and have fun.".

3 - Ziggy, Cooke and Godard were the only solid signings this year.  A faceoff specialist, a third line instigator and a goon.  The pieces that were needed the most were either completely ignored or horribly replaced.

4 - This was a guy who was expected to get significant point production out of career third line players named Tyler Kennedy, Pascal Dupuis, Maxime Talbot and Matt Cooke.  Then a young Jordan Staal, a hot and cold Petr Sykora who is getting up there in age and a useless Miroslav Satan.  Outside of Malkin and Crosby, the man had nothing else to work with on that offense.

Now if you read some of the Penguin boards right now, some are popping the champagne over this decision, but these type of decisions rarely work.  I'm watching the local sports shows tonight and I keep hearing about how Shero wants to "shake things up".  This move was made for one very simple reason, to cover ass in the front office.  Plain and simple.

It's going to be fun to see how Bylsma magically turns Satan into a player who actually gives a shit instead of the lazy ass I have seen since October 4 or how he is going to magically turn Kennedy, Dupuis and the others into legitimate first and second line wingers or how he's going to turn Fleury into a goaltender who shows more consistency (just don't be mean to him!).

Fun, fun, fun.

Ray Shero is a fucking pussy. On the list of the Pens problems, Therrien was about number 55.

Like I said, it's not the first time a coach got hosed in this city when it comes to the Penguins.  This is an organization who fired the greatest hockey coach of all time after he won a second Stanley Cup for this city.  The well known rumor was that Lemieux did not like him, the players followed Lemieux's lead and Craig Patrick bent over for Lemieux and booted Bowman.

Kevin Constantine was another one who got shafted in this city because the players did not like his rough approach.  I realize the coach is the first to go and we are not the only organization out there to fire HC's, but we fire these guys no matter the situation.  This city has always went with the inmates running the asylum approach when it came to HC's.  In this situation, it's pure scapegoat for a shitty offseason.
