The Buffalo Sabres have agreed to terms on a two-year contract extension with center Tim Connolly
The deal is not yet signed, a source told TFP.

I'd say that should be about a wash for both teams, nothing more than a change of scenery.

As TFP reported earlier, the Ottawa Senators have signed defenseman Filip Kuba to a three-year contract extension.
Kuba, who was in the final year of his contract, will earn $3.7 million per year over the length of his new deal.

Kuba has registered two goals and 27 assists for 29 points in 52 games with the Senators this season.

Also take it fwiw, but I heard a rumor going around last night that the Blues want Satan and we are looking for a sixth round pick from them.   I hope to hell this is true and that Pleau is dumb enough to pick up that 3.5 and actually give us something in return.

Penguins first trade:

Andy Wozniewski from St. Louis for Richmond

Guy is big (6-5, 225) and is relatively young (28).  This seems more like a trade to help down in WBS than in Pittsburgh.  He's basically a fringe AHL'er IMO.  Nothing special at all

Pens claim Craig Adams off waivers from Chicago.  Gerber to Toronto and Tellqvist traded to Buffalo for 4th round pick.

Not exactly sure why we brought in Craig Adams.  He's 31 and can't score goals.  I'm not exactly sure what else he brings to the table.

On a separate note:

Alex Ovechkin just left practice after taking a slap shot off of his right foot. He went to the bench in obvious pain, removed his skate and then was helped to the dressing room by a trainer.

Karma's a bitch.
