Also take it fwiw, but I heard a rumor going around last night that the Blues want Satan and we are looking for a sixth round pick from them. I hope to hell this is true and that Pleau is dumb enough to pick up that 3.5 and actually give us something in return.
Scratch that, he cleared waivers. Not a single team wanted him.

Why in the heck did we pick up Adams? Are we making moves just to make moves?

O. Jokinen traded to Calgary for first round pick, Lombardi and Prust.
That Calgary team just received a much needed boost.

So up to this point for the Penguins...
Penguins make minor moves
Wednesday, March 04, 2009
Pittsburgh Post-Gazette
The Penguins claimed right winger Craig Adams off waivers from Chicago today.
Adams, 31, is 6 foot and 200 pounds, has two goals and in 36 games with the Blackhawks this season. He will join the Penguins for their game in Florida Thursday night.
The Penguins had made a number of moves, most of modest impact, by early afternoon, but the most surprising was assigning winger Luca Caputi, one of the top prospects in their organization, from their American Hockey League affiliate in Wilkes-Barre to their ECHL farm team in Wheeling for violating unspecified team rules.
Defenseman Jon D'Aversa was sent to the Nailers for the same reason, while forwards Chris Minard and Aaron Boogaard are to be healthy scratches for a game against Binghamton tonight for similar violations.
The Penguins also assigned forward Bill Thomas, a Fox Chapel native, to Wilkes-Barre and swapped minor-leaguer defensemen with St. Louis.
They acquired Andy Wozniewski from the Blues for Danny Richmond shortly before learning that winger Miroslav Satan, who was placed on waivers Tuesday, had not been claimed.
The Penguins have the option of assigning Satan, whose contract is worth $3.5 million, to the Baby Penguins if they make a trade before the 3 p.m. deadline that requires them to open some salary-cap space.
He also could remain on the NHL roster.
Wozniewski, who is 28 years old 6 foot 3, 195 pounds, has one goal and 16 assists in 56 games with St. Louis' AHL affiliate in Peoria. He will report to the Baby Penguins, but is not expected to be in their lineup for the Binghamton game.
