This is one boring ass trade deadline.  Jokinen the biggest trade and it's not looking like there will be any mind-blowing/out of the clear blue type of deals.

Why in the heck did we pick up Adams? Are we making moves just to make moves?

My guess....4th line depth.  Godard will become irrelevant come playoff time.  Plus he's a RH shooter I believe?

Depending on how far we go in the playoffs, we gave up a fifth round pick for Guerin.  That could drop down to a third round pick at the lowest depending on rounds completed.

Well, at least we have some veteran leadership in the locker room...

I guess we aren't making a move for a legitament scorer. Kunitz was a great pick up, and I hope Guerin does well.

Looks like we're gonna be one and done if we do make the playoffs. I don't see us beating Boston, NJ, or Washington in a 7 game series. And since we didn't make any big moves there is no way we finish better than 6th.

Where does Guerin fit in? He's listed as a Center, but is Bylsma really going to throw him on the first line with Sid?

Kunitz-Sid-Guerin
Feddy-Geno-Sykora
Cooke-Staal-Tk Money
Thomas-Mad Max-Shitan

Huh??

The Plus: Gave up little to get him.

The Minus: He's 38 and I don't think he has the speed to hang with Crosby or Malkin.  It's not like we just picked up the 01-02 Bill Guerin here.

At this point, I wouldn't move Kunitz off of Staal's line considering the way those two have been playing together.

Yeah, I like Kunitz and Staal too, but where does this leave Sid? Dupuis and Geurin? Ouch.

Also, take off Thomas and add Craig Adams I guess. Left Dupuis off the list too. Wonder what'll happen to Satan. Can't we put him on waivers again, but this time at half of what his salary is worth? Didn't we do that with Leclaire or Recchi?

Antropov is a Ranger for second round pick and a conditional draft pick.

Carcillo to Philly for Upshall and second round pick.

So minus Bouwmeester, all of the 'big' names are off the board.  When the TSN crew is debating on what a team would get for Dominic f-ing Moore, you know it's a dead year for trades.
