Haha, yesterday I said the Flyers were locked into the 4 seed because the Ranger had nothing to play for. Man sometimes I'd glad I'm wrong 95% of the time.
This is going to be one hell of a series.

I'm going with the Pens in five. The Flyers seem to be in typical playoff meltdown mode and have been playing hot and cold hockey for the last few weeks, much like their overrated goaltender. We have the home-ice and we have played them well this year.
Give me these lines...
Kunitz - Crosby - Guerin
Fedotenko - Malkin - Sykora
Cooke - Staal - Kennedy
Godard - Talbot - Dupuis
I would not even touch that third line nor would I even think about putting Satan in the lineup against the Flyers or any other team during these playoffs for that matter. In this series, we are going to need players who are willing to actually work for the puck instead of skating to one spot, standing there, waiting for the puck to come to them and pray for a wide open net. We need players who are willing to throw a hit from time to time, fight for the puck in the corners and who are also willing to take a beating in front of the net and get that dirty goal for time to time.
Fortunately for the Penguins, we already have those type of players on the team. Players like Talbot, Kunitz, Staal, Guerin, Dupuis, Cooke and Kennedy. While some of the players mentioned may not produce on a regular basis, they all work hard every night and get you that important goal from time to time. I see no reason why we would want to mess with the chemistry simply because Satan went down to the minors and produced to some degree. Plus, Satan is a -7, (0 goals and 2 assists) in 5 games vs the Flyers this year. Having him as depth in case of emergency is not a hard pill for me to swallow, but choosing him over a player who actually busted his ass off all season long, paid the price and worked for his paycheck would make me sick.

Thankfully, I will be at games one and two, five and seven if neccessary, so I will not have to deal with the horrible versus crew and equally horrible camera angles for those particular games, but NHL.com is reporting that games 1, 2, 4 and if necessary game's 5 and 7 will be televised on Versus. Yet, the PG and the Penguins official site are reporting that all games will be televised on FSN Pittsburgh with the exception of games three and six, which will be televised on NBC...

Games 3 and 6 will be televised nationally by NBC. The others will be shown locally by FSN Pittsburgh.

Pens playoff games to be shown on big screen
Monday, April 13, 2009
Pittsburgh Post-Gazette
Penguins playoff games, home and away, again will be shown on a large TV screen outside of Gate 3 at Mellon Arena.
The screen attracted large crowds during the Penguins' surge to the Stanley Cup final in 2008.
"The big screen quickly became a destination for our fans during last season's playoff run," team president David Morehouse said. "We are looking forward to offering the outdoor viewing area once again this year and encourage those without tickets to the games to come and experience the tremendous playoff atmosphere."
The LED screen measures 12-feet-by-16-feet.
Team officials said grills, tents and alcohol will not be allowed in the area around Gate 3.
The Penguins' first-round playoff series against Philadelphia will begin Wednesday at 7:08 p.m. at Mellon Arena. Game 2 will be here Friday evening before the series shifts across the state.

Minus our horrible PP, I thought we played a great game. We came out hitting and never stopped hitting for 60 straight minutes. Staal, Kunitz and Kennedy were on a mission last night. Our forecheck was unbelievable, I lost count when it came to Flyer turnovers. Our defense played excellent and did a great job of staying on the defensive side of the puck.
When it came to the Flyers, it was pretty much what I expected, Biron looked like well...Biron and the team as a whole appears to be in typical Philly playoff meltdown mode. Then Philly turned on the goonish play after being down three and late in the third, Hartnell in particular. I would love to see him carted off the ice before all is said and done in this series. All I heard about last season when we met this team in the playoffs was how they did not have Timmonen (AKA Bobby Orr), where was he last night? He was out there, but he was invisible.
When all was over, we basically beat Philly at their own game. Take the next game and this series is over.
